Description

We’re a market leading, highly aspirational technology business with a very clear purpose. This year we’ll deliver around 1.8Bn, yes Bn, messages for our customers. They’ll leverage our class leading technology to communicate with their customers or staff through a highly ubiquitous channel.

With around 140 staff here, Melbourne is our HQ but we’ve got offices in San Francisco, London, Sydney, Hanoi and Auckland aswell. With more than 26,000 customers, who service over 10M Australians, we’re the absolute market leader. That being said, we’re undergoing some change; we’re transitioning from a Technology led business to a design led Product one. As such our product offering is being redesigned and expanded, meaning high quality UX and design is pivotal to our future success.

We’re looking to talk to UX Designers with a strong product focus, we’re not designing sites or landing pages, but SaaS products centered around business messaging. If you’re someone who loves crafting engaging experiences and simplifying the complex, then you’ll love working with our teams.

Some of the design challenges we face at the consumer end include reimagining the experience within the constraints of a mobile phone screen. It’s tougher than think, but that’s why we need you. We often design for both our customer and the end consumer, so there’s always plenty to think about.

You’ll be working within the design team, and also as part of our Product teams. We’re a fully agile environment, with cross functional teams that build, deploy and support their own products.

So we’re expecting you to have solid experience across the contemporary UX techniques of user interviewing, research, wireframing and so on, along with competence with the usual design tools such as Balsamiq, OminiGraffle, Axure etc. So please include a Portfolio of your work in your application so we can understand how you do what you do.

Here you get to try stuff, fail fast, iterate and come up with ways to make our customers’ lives easier and ensure they love doing business with us via thoughtfully designed products. We’re sort of like a startup within an established business, so you get all the benefits of both sides.

We offer some great perks for our team such as flexible work options, regular events, training and development programs, birthday leave, advanced technology stack, breakfast bar, end of trip facilities and more in the pipeline.

Be sure to include your portfolio or a link, and let’s talk soon. This is an asap hire for us.

Description

Empathy, PHP, and AWS or Docker. I’m looking for a Senior dev who isn’t afraid to admit they Googled the answer.

If you just Googled “Empathy”, we’re sorry. It’s a lower-case ‘e’. We want a senior back-end dev who is great to work with. Who understands that people matter and come first.

Apart from that, you’ll have sufficient experience to be considered a senior PHP developer, and you’ll have worked with AWS or Docker enough to help us continue moving our product forward.

We’re the Hub team at MessageMedia, about 200 meters from Flinders Street station. We create the experiences that our customers use to access our messaging platform. MessageMedia is a veteran in the business messaging space and have recently undergone a transformation in how we work.

A key part of that is a complete rewrite of our user interface. Moving to modern architecture, and with a React frontend, our PHP team is creating a backend hosted on AWS and moving towards containerization.

That’s it. That’s what we’re looking for. If it’s you, apply now. If it’s a friend, please let her know.

We’re an equal opportunity employer and we totally embrace diversity. If you can do the job and your values line up with ours then we’re absolutely interested in talking to you.
